Cruising the Shannon-Erne with Delphia
Savor the present moment and treat yourself to a real break at nature's pace on the waters of the Shannon-Erne. The Shannon and Erne rivers are the most famous destinations for river tourism in Ireland, forming the longest non-commercial waterway in Europe. Your tranquility will be preserved throughout your stay. It's up to you whether you opt for a one or two-week stay: the possibilities are endless on these Irish waters, and the Delphia offers a comfortable and pleasant living space on board.
This region offers travelers over 400 kilometers of navigable waterways between Belleek, at the extreme north of Lough Erne in County Fermanagh, and Killaloe in County Clare. A privileged paradise for nature lovers, fishing enthusiasts, and golf lovers!
On board the Delphia 10 Sedan, you'll have front-row seats to enjoy 360° views of the natural landscapes that the country offers. And rest assured, even in case of rain, which is not uncommon in Ireland, the vertical windows of the Delphia's wheelhouse will minimize droplet formation on the glass. Regardless of the weather, the show is guaranteed!
Easy navigation to enjoy the moment
Throughout the journey, the Shannon-Erne has a large number of moorings, so you can take advantage of them as you wish. Picturesque towns, historic castles and churches, and lively pubs await you for memorable stops. Powered by a 100% electric or diesel engine, the Delphia 10 Sedan invites you to a most peaceful cruise. With its side door and bow thrusters easy to use, this boat allows for serene and hassle-free navigation. Stopping at Irish quays has never been easier!
Designed for all bodies of water with its shallow draft, our Delphia boat will immediately find its place on Irish rivers and lakes as well as on the Shannon-Erne canal. Dating back to 1838, this 63-kilometer waterway reopened in 1994 for pleasure boats. This waterway, which connects Lough Erne to the River Shannon, is punctuated by 16 automatic locks. Before you depart, don't forget to bring your smart card to operate them.
On the River Shannon, you'll encounter six manual locks with lock keepers as well as toll bridges. Note that wearing a life jacket is mandatory at each lock passage.
Delphia Favorites along the Shannon-Erne and its Lakes
Departing from Belleek, known for its porcelain, don't miss admiring on your way the ruined monastery of Devenish Island on Lower Lough Erne. After exploring the lively town of Enniskillen with its waterfront castle, delve into the maze of wooded islands lying on Upper Lough Erne. It's amidst this incredible setting that Crom Victorian castle stands.
Take the Shannon-Erne canal and make stops at Ballyconnell, Ballinamore, and Leitrim to experience the Irish atmosphere. Further south, Lough Key and its numerous mooring points allow you to enjoy a vast 320-hectare forest park and many activities designed for the whole family.
Further south, descending the Shannon, Athlone and its castle deserve your attention. Also, make sure to allocate time to discover the monastic town of Clonmacnoise, a splendid relic of the past, isolated in nature.
To further explore the Irish countryside, push your exploration inland by bicycle. On the Delphia 10 Sedan, you'll find a charging station for your electric bikes.
Inside/Outside: A boat designed like home
